Employees Saving Growth Retirement Scheme is one of the major schemes introduced to the employees. A certain amount of fund is deducted from the salary and is deposited under this scheme in a monthly basis. Every offices or organization deposits the deducted amount to the designated collection center. The branches of Commercial Banks and Nepal Rastra Bank are used as a designated collection centers in different parts of the countries.
This is a fully voluntary scheme. This scheme is based on Defined Contributory Fully Funded and Individual Account Based System. This scheme is supposed to be helpful in supporting pension reform process, replacing the existing pay-as-you-go government pension system.
This scheme is also expected to be helpful in expanding the coverage of Retirement Benefits.
Participant under this scheme can enjoy the privilege of tax deduction facility upto the limit of contribution made or 33 percent of total remuneration in retirement schemes.
